RECIPE: NASI KERABU IS THE BLUE RICE!

Nasi Kerabu (Blue Rice) is one of traditional dish in Malaysia. Traditionally the rice is cooked with ‘Clitoria Ternatea’ (butterfly-pea flower or ‘bunga telang’ to get the blue coloured rice and aroma. The rice is served with many type of salad, fish crackers, dried coconut and other condiments.


In this post, we will share with you, how to make Nasi Kerabu easiest way, without the kit. 

Ingredient
PART A: Blue Rice

2 cup rice
2 cup water
1 lemon grass
Blue colouring or Clitoria Ternatea (if you have)

Instructions:
Rinse rice, add water, colouring and lemon grass. Cook it till you get the blue rice.


PART B: Condiments
Salted Egg
Dried fried coconut
Fish floss
Budu (Fermented anchovies sauce)
Chili sauce

Salad / frech vegetables
Cucumber
Torch Lily
Cabbage
Long green bean
Citrus leaves / Vietnam mint leaves

Cut all salad and arrange on the side
